PEAKY BLINDERS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

PEAKY BLINDERS SEASON 4 AND 5 – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

The third season of Peaky Blinders ended on an almighty cliffhanger after a shock twist that saw Cillian Murphy Tommy Shelby reveal that the family were to be arrested. Surely not?

Peaky Blinders is heading back to Birmingham for a fourth season, but also a FIFTH.

PEAKY BLINDERS SEASON 4 RELEASE DATE – WHEN WILL IT RETURN?

BBC Two renewed the Steven Knight-created crime drama just before the end of its third season in May 2016.

Season four of the hit BBC drama is set to return on November 15 at 9pm.

It will be shown on BBC Two and then available on Netflix once it’s aired.

The BBC commissioned seasons four and five at the same time, so we will probably get to see them in quick succession in 2017 and then 2018.

“The success of it is down to really great writing. People in America love it, people in Australia love it, people in Poland love it – it’s mad.”

Cillian Murphy announced the show’s renewal by saying: “Tommy Shelby is one of the most intense, challenging characters I’ve had the opportunity to play.

“I’m particularly grateful that Steven’s original, dynamic writing and the long form series allow me to explore Tommy in depth. I very much look forward to Tommy’s evolution over the next two chapters.”

Knight added: “I am genuinely thrilled at the response to the third series of the show. The prospect of writing series four and five is truly exciting.

“This is a real passion project for me and I look forward to telling more stories of the Shelby family.”

What happens in season four of Peaky Blinders?

Cillian Murphy has confirmed a return as the leading man in the Birmingham based gangster show.

Steven Knight, the show’s writer, has revealed his plans for the gang to reach the 1920s period – and see the fallout of the General Strike in 1926.

He revealed that he thought the time was a true “between the wars” story, as the city recovered from World War One with no knowledge of the impending World War Two.

The writer revealed: “I hope it does run and run all the way up to the Second World War, but it does get harder to get the cast together as the actors are being pulled into feature films. It’s a victim of its own success.”

Oscar winning Adrien Brody is also set for a role in the BBC gangster drama.

Adrien, who bagged an Oscar for his role in 2002 movie The Pianist, was spotted filming in Liverpool flanked by security guards as bosses desperately tried to hide his involvement.

It’s been announced that The Wire star Aiden Gillen will also be among the newest cast members of the hit show and is joined by his former co-star Charlie Murphy.

Their roles are being kept under wraps – but we can definitely expect fireworks!
